Diu district is straddled by the chasi river on the north separating it from the main land and the Arabian sea on the other there sides.

Administrative set up:
A union territory with the Administrator (common to Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli) as the head of the administration assisted by the Collector. The Lok Sabha constituency is common with the Daman and the UT has no legislative. Diu comprises two main Villages, Vanakbara and Bucharwada and the Diu town itself.
